Audi is one step closer to releasing its e-tron Quattro all-electric crossover SUV, as the four-ring brand showed off an almost production-ready prototype at the Geneva show. The prototype is one of 250 such vehicles that Audi has been testing across four continents.
Scheduled to launch in Europe before the end of the year, the production e-tron Quattro will apply the lessons learned by Audi over the course of more than 3 million miles of prototype testing. The all-wheel-drive crossover will be joined by two other Audi electric vehicles before the end of the decade: a production version of the e-tron Sportback concept and a smaller compact model.
As previously reported, the e-tron Quattro will use a 150-kW fast-charging system, which is expected to provide the five-passenger crossover with an 80 percent charge in approximately 30 minutes. The production Audi e-tron Quattro is anticipated to reach our shores in 2019 and will have a driving range of more than 200 miles on a single charge.
